This project aims to clean Bagmati river which is a holy river of the Hindus and a major source of water for the Kathmandu Valley. This project is under “High Powered Committee for Integrated Development of the Bagmati Civilization” which controls over Bagmati river pollution by human actions such as settlement along the river, unplanned urbanisation at the river basin, and disposal of untreated sewage and solid waste into the river system, extractions of sand from river bed, construction of public infrastructure on river space, and illegal settlements of squatters along the banks. We have been involved in Construction of Municipal Trunk Sewer, River training, Service Road and Allied Works from Chainage 2+900 to 6+000 along both bank of Bishnumati river at confluence of Bagmati and Bishnumati.
